This young boy has never fetched water from the well before. His mother, who is busy today, has asked him to fetch water for her. The well is deep, and the boy is scared that he might fall into it. He is doubtful, weather he can drop the bucket far enough for it to reach the water. He is frightened about falling into the well, if he bends over too much to pull the bucket up.
For a short time the boy shows a lack of self- confidence. His doubts and fear have given him a metal block.
But a little later, he gathers up courage and decides that he must fetch the water up from the well.
He draws out the water. He is so delighted with his achievement that he even wants to drink a glass of water at the well. He is no longer scared of the well.
This is what trusting your self all is about. It gives you confidence. It drives away doubts and fears. It helps you cross hurdles and even do the impossible.
Are there times when you lose faith in your self because of disappointments and failures? Then learn a lesson from the diligent ant. She has some food in her mouth which she must carry over the wall. She slips a hundred times, but she continues to forge ahead. Nothing can stop her. Soon she will have crossed the wall and carried this food to her nest.
To win, you have to keep trying till you success. Do well known cricketers give up playing cricket, because they have scored no runs? No, they wait for another chance. Never sit back and ponder about whether you can do something or nt. Just do it!
If as a baby, you have learnt to walk, in spite of falling so many times. Then there is nothing to stop you from trying to succeed in other things too.
Concentrate on yourself, exert your patience and you will find that nothing is too difficult for you.
However, faith in your self is not enough. To succeed you have to make the effort too.
