Friday evenings are booked and tonight was no exception and I wilfully and deliberately tuned in to Ian McMillan Featured Artist and Poet on the BBC Radio 3 Show .. The Verb and it was an eclectic mix of songs and readings and especially significant was the introduction of music to lend to an atmospheric ambiance suitable for this time of year. As the weather outside is wet, very chilly and its nice to draw up to the radio and listen to some light hearted talk and entertaining music and verses presented aptly by Ian McMillan. The Host of the Radio Programme .. the Featured Artist of the Year and the Presenter of The Verb .. that is Ian McMillan tonight introduced the listener to Paul Muldoon Irish Poet who now has spread his wings and dare I add, his great and much applauded talent in and out of Ireland to include Japan and I note with interest that Muldoon includes references to .. dare I say it ...... The Turks which reminds me of a poem I penned years back ... but let me not digress. Ian McMillan in conversation with Paul Muldoon on the subject of Muldoon's latest book .. Maggot was positively enchanting and Muldoon remarked that even though he was present in The Studio in discussion about his book "Maggot" its the next book that he writes that draws his attention not the one he has just had published .. so we live and learn a lot about readings, poems and poets from listening to The Verb featuring Ian McMillan . keep up the good work BBC Radio 3 Team .. .. Happy Days!
