Poet Wendy Cope and Partner Have Moved!

Article Summary   by:SM THOMPSON

So pure celebration or a corker or now its time to listen in to find out where Wendy Cope is? Wendy Cope has moved so where has the Great Poet gone? The discussion was hot on The Verb - Presenter Ian McMilllan last night Friday as he discussed with Wendy Cope her recent move to is it East Anglia and how she had moved out of where she was before and now with her partner she has taken up residence from where she was before to the new place:

So I checked Wendy Cope Wikipedia and scrolled down and found out that she has gone To Ely Cambridgeshire and she had to sell her stuff or to put it another way ..... the British Library purchased Cope's archive including manuscripts, school reports and 4O,OOO emails - largest email archive they have bought to date: Wikipedia 25 February 2O12!

"I want to find a good house for an archive - we had to move home - so we needed money to buy a house and space"
The story continues ... Cope asked Andrew Motion (fellow poet) what she shoulld do who "Told Me" to approach
the British Library - so 67 Poetry notebooks and unpublished poems have gone perhaps to the British Library!

I phoned a friend at Winchester who has a passing acquaintance with the Poet Wendy Cope and her partner and was updated thus: Cope's partner retired and as they lived in a free College House it was necessary to move and
I guess buy a new one.

Oddly enough I am always shocked when men retire as I expect them to go on forever but I suppose the
mail will now have to be redirected to the new place from wherever the old place was and the Postman will arrive at Wendy Cope's door and her Partner's door to deliver the mail.

Cope said she was getting on a bit so I suppose its a fair distance from Winchester to Ely Cambs but then
travel is part of the English way of life and no doubt the bus can be caught and its not too expensive but its not
on concessions or on offers if one is travelling to and from here to any Airport in London as its full fare: I know all about it as I had reason to travel in Cope and Partner's direction recently in order to catch a flight to Denmark and I had to pay full fare.

So its "Bless This House" views to Wendy Cope Poet and Partner: Hard work pays UP!
