The oldest and most
ancient of people in Europe are said to be The Celts .. and they stretch all the way over to Ireland England Scotland and Wales. Some are found in parts of France. The interesting side of the Celtic Fringe is that Celts predate Christianity and a lot of the ancient beliefs are held to in countries like Ireland.
When in childhood, the
tree at the end of the farm in the country was twisted and falling over on the ground the
story was that it was a fairy tree and if the farmer cut it down they would cast a spell on him and he would die before the
night was out. In fact he must never trim it touch it and cut it .. and oddly enough the tree never did grow any taller!
The other story I liked in Celtic Ireland was the story about the giant. they said he was the tallest
giant in the Celtic world and he only ever woke up at night .. he slept all day and they warned all children not to make too much noise as they would wake the giant and when angry he would eat all the children for his breakfast. The Celtic Giant was said to be the size of the Mountain at the end of the Farm ...land ...
Celtic Fringe and other
