Strzelno is a small village situated between Wielkopolska and Kujawy. It is famous all over Poland for it's incredible
roman buildings: St. Prokop rotunda with the original cope (it's one of the best remained roman churches in Poland) and The Trinity
church which belongs to Norbertanki sisterhood. The Norbertanki church is the place, where in 1946 the roman columns were uncovered- the event was recognized as the greatest discovery in the field of history of
art in the postwar Poland. On the southern
column there are some
figures symbolizing inter alia: justice, caution, humility and faith. The visions of anger, murder, jealousy and immorality are placed on the northern pillar. There are also 18 figures forged in the sandstone on each of the column. Owing to these pillars Strzelno attracts both polish and foreign fancies of roman art.
