Recent broadcasts from the BBC confirm that former Prime Minister Tony Blair has recently
converted to the Roman Catholic
Church where I hang in ... its done! they say here in the South. Apparently Mr. Blair has
converted from the other Christian Family .. the Anglican Faith so it will be a not too burdensome a journey in faith for Mr. Blair in his latest quest for a religious journey in faith.
I find that journeying around the world that the Catholic Church is as
different from one country to another as is culture and that what pleases the British isnt good for the Italians or the Spanish ...and that view is echoed widely in America which has a very large number of citizens who are Catholic! The Americans are very friendly and inviting surprise! surprise!
So each Catholic Church has a different ethos and a different spiritual feeling to it
Here in England the emphasis is very much on getting on with our neighbours .. community work .... turning up in true English style .. when invited .... always wait to be "asked" they used to say, and finally I have been invited to the Catholic Church Drama Group.
We have translations in English on what the Pope thinks about English language packages ... is that anything to do with the Pope is what my Anglican colleagues would often ask me .... not so far as I know .. and we keep on translating words from latin into English .. whatever happened to Secule ... and its friend seculoram .. I did an update mass in Ireland in Latin and apparently the Pope is lifting the ban on Latin Masses and we may get a mini Latin mass here in England ... The Catholic Faith .. its a broad canvas .. happy reading and happy holidays....... great stuff!
