Los Olvidados tells the story of juvenile delinquents living in the
poverty in Mexico
City during the 1950''s. The main character, Pedro, a teenage boy growing up in the slums with a mother who doesn''t love him, attempts to turn his life around after he is arrested and placed in a
group home for
boys, but fate has other plans, and he faces a tragic end. Until Pedro''s arrest, he spends his days in the streets ofthis
crime filled city with his criminal
friend, Jaibo, who turns out to be no friend at all. The boys often steal, pickpocket, attack and murder others in order to get the money to buy food. By the time Pedro earns the trust of the warden in the group home, it is already too late, and he is unable to escape his violent past.
