Theatre is strangely Italian and the Italian Renaissance figured in teaching years ago and it was explained to me by my Italian Colleagues and employers that Theatre in Italy is an active set up and that sitting on a computer or reading books on Theatre in a Library how ever well our students and teachers select their material ... was an utter waste of time.
It was important to deal with Italian Renaissance Theatre by getting out there and doing it so you can imagine my delight and surprise when I was invited to an evening performance of Italian Theatre in the University Theatre several years ago. I took my place in the first few seats at the front of the theatre and our students who were and still are "Italian"
coped adequately with the performance and delivery of all the lines of Italian Theatre and naturally they did it with style and aplomb in Italian .... I was greatly honoured to be invited to the Italian Theatre ...... and of course Italian Renaissance is part of the history and tradition of Theatre and its performances .... great stuff ...
