Mad Max 2
A film by George Miller
With Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence, Mike Preston and Emil Minty.
In a world devastated
by numerous wars and returned to a state of wilderness, where everybody is fighting for a drop of oil, road pirates are the law and engage in looting and daily aggressions.
Max, whose wife and child were violently murdered by a gang of motorcyclists several years ago, is now a solo traveler whose sole companion is a dog. On his way, he comes across a
community secluded around a refinery, which must cope with regular attacks by the clan of
Humungus, a warrior with a thirst for oil and blood.
Max decides to help this community to recover a vehicle that can carry them and their oil to a dreamland, oceanfront, but it will have to risk his life and face the bloody assaults of the hordes of Humungus ...
Produced in 1981, Mad Max 2 has not aged: Mel Gibson is perfect in the role of the solitary warrior, the scenario shows inventiveness in the creation of a post-apocalyptic universe, and George Miller excels in the racing scenes filmed at a breakneck pace.
