Melvyn Bragg in his lesser days as such wrote me a wonderful letter about the South Bank Show and the stimulation point was the success of the link in language and theatre both in London and throughout the rest of the UK. I was in Ireland at the time and it was a great thrill to receive recognition and compliments from the present Lord Bragg.
However, the subsequent nature of all this excitement in relation to the South Bank Show Presenter was that everyone around and within the circle of writers became involved yet again given that Melvyn Bragg did offer me recognition as a writer, poet, and playwright on the issue of the 3 act play for the Commercial Stage in Ireland/Abbey Theatre Dublin ... so much so that I took on a new Commission this time from
Turkey .......... a country I had little to do with until 1999 .. however the Play was completed to everyone's amazement and delight and the wheel turns full circle as Abbey Theatre reviewed The Play - References and it got a Rave Review from both Abbey Theatre and Channel 4!
All this success I attribute in no small way to Melvyn Bragg and his South Bank Show taking a great interest in my work in 1994 ..... Thanks! to the Show Bank Show London for their support .. keep on working .... and of course Thanks to Lord Bragg! Wow!
