Factory Girl starring Sienna Miller is an interesting albeit vacuous piece of
film. The strange atmosphere created by this film probably captures the mood at the
time.
People hungry for fame and money; when the odd balls of the world were allowed to play as they wished and
left to face the consequences. The portrait of Andy Warhol was pretty harsh, as he seemed to
lack any real passion, which I don''t think was the case. Performances were enhanced by the fact the actors looked very much liek the people they were playing. But the chemistry was missing and at times it seemed like it was acting by numbers. It left me with a sick feeling in my stomach at the way Miller was treated as Edie Sedgwick. The lack of parent intervention and the general downfall of somebody clearly warm in spirit. But that reflected the
nature of the time and the nature of society; both then and today.
