The greatest event which moved me was tsunami of December 26, 2004, which drifted away with it many homes. Numerous lives
were submitted in the surge of ocean. Watching all the disaster could even bring devil into tears, as I was still a kind hearted human. The disaster was occurred and with my great sorrow and will I was not able to reverse it. So to satisfy my pity soul I came out of the comfort of home to help those who had already drowned their world into the sea.
I contacted all of my friends to come out and help me to form a temporary organisation. As I was greatly determine to send help to the affected areas. It was hard to reach all the help-needed areas, as I was completely new to the field of social work. However, I hadn’t lost any bit of hope, and I
consulted few established organisations to work along my moral cause. In
beginning I faced disappointment, when for many days after waiting I had not received any response. So I decided to go to Indonesia and other affected areas my self. My visa process was completed, tickets were confirmed. And I was soon to leave the city with few of my colleague, who were working along with me for this cause. Suddenly my wife informed me about the email from one of the origination. I was astounded and confused as well with my two options. First was to leave immediately to help. Second was to work systematically, and reach more people at once. I discussed this issue with many friends and family members. And I came to the result that I must work along with the organisation to sort out things systematically.
I consulted them and procedure began. After collecting enough aid we were successful in sending out our first allocation to Indonesia and surrounding islands. As being first drop of rain, many people came along to support me and to work with me. Nevertheless, it was just a beginning and a lot was yet to be done as almost all of the victims had lost their homes and source of earnings too.
So as individual originations our share was not enough to rebound the broken correlation. And as determinations were going high so were the demands. Now we were feeling the need to contact some more reputed originations and media partners to work with us to serve better.
Though we achieved our assigned goal but still we are unable to cover deep hurt of those victims who are still stunned with this event. But it moved me a great deal that for many months I could not stop thinking what really God want to teach us with this natural dismay? Or have we taken any lesson from this? While for many days flowing in these notions, I realised in my self that God want to give us a gesture. Where we human beings are busy strangling each others lives, with the false claims of terrorism. But yet life and death remains in the hand God it self.
