Understanding Ancient Civiliations; The Ancient Greeks; New Perspective

Book Review by: Goodlin1975

Original Author: Stephanie Lynn Budin
This book offers the historical and chronological setting of the Ancient Greeks. Covering time periods such as the Middle
Ages of the East and West, important historical figures such as Photius and his library of Bibliothka are highlighted. A breakdown of the Greek form of writing is elaborated on, as well as the inclusion of the Linear B writing system. The origins, growth, and decline of Greek Civilization are covered in great depth, in addition to the setup of the City-States. A mention of the Spartans, Athenians, Persian Invasion and the Death of Alexander signals a history rich in war conflicts. The origin of Economics and the usage of the money system were early in its form. Illustrations of artifacts prove the Greeks ability to produce art. Political structure illustrations demonstrate early forms of government. The Ancient Greek civilization models are imitated in modern time and fully accessible in this book. A wide range of Ancient Greek history is extensively available for Art History, Art, Film Scholars, educational purposes and intellectual advancement.

This abstract was extremely helpful. I've been looking for a book that explores the history of the Ancient Greeks. If I didn't read this summary, I would have looked elsewhere for another book.
