Schools in Roman City Roman City is placed in the middle of Moldavian highlands , in Neamt county, Romania, at the confluence of Siret and Moldova river, and has the coordinates 46055' N latitude, 26055' E longitude. First mention is in ,,Letopisetul Novgorodului “ document, from 1387 . The first written document about Roman is a donation document from 30 of March 1392 . The name of the city is from the ruler Roman I Musat, the founder of the city. The most representative schools of the city are :
Kindergarden 1916 – was
settled the kindergarden
nr. 1 ,,Episcop Melchisedec”, from 1939 it is called nr.2
1919 – The Orthodox society of Romanina women
built the second kindergarden, on Dobrogeanu Gherea street.
1920 – the Jewish community build the third kindergarden (today is called nr. 5).
In the next years another 20 educative institutions were built.
Primary schools 1747 the ruler Grigore II Ghica built a Slavon and Romanian with Roman”s Episcopate.

School for boys, nr. 1 ,,Grigore Al. Ghica Voievod”
1861 was settled Primary school for
girls, nr.2 ,,Vasile Alecsandri” (nowaday School nr.1) .
1859-1868 were settled Primary school for boys, nr.3 and two schools for girls.
1879 was built first private Jewish school under the supervision of lui D. Lustgarten.
1893 was built first State Jewish school.
1919 was settled Normal school ,,Ion Creanga”.
1921 was settled Primary school for boys, nr. 4 (nowadays School nr.3) in a new building from 1925.
1925 was settled Primary school for girls, nr. 3, in the same location with School nr.4.
We can mention the existence of ,,pensions” , one for boys and two for girls and an Armenian school.
Middle and secondary schools 1858 – was settled Eparhial Seminar. In 1892 begun the construction of its own building, finished in 1897. The activity was reopen in 1990.
1872 – was settled Gimnazium ,,Roman Voda” .In 1899 the High school was moved in present building.
1880 – was settled School of Art and Craft, one of the oldest vocational school from Moldavia.
1921 – was build The High school for girls ,,Maria si Ecaterina Cantacuzino” by personal donation.
1925 – it was open The Commercial Gimnazium for boys, later it became High school.
1929 – it was open The Vocational school of aprentenship, financed by Army arsenal.
