Tutankhamun's Tomb

Book Review by: Isaigh

Original Author: Tony Allan
Tutankhamun, the youngest Phaoraoh of Egypt. He was only 20 years old when he died. Before him, the Pharaoh Akhenaten tried
to overthrow the old Gods and made the people follow only one God – Aten, the Sun Disc. But his efforts were in vain for when Tutankhamun became Pharaoh, people in Egypt began to worship different Gods again. Discovering Tutankhamun’s Tomb is considered as the Greatest Discovery in the history of Egypt. The English Archeologists who discovered the tomb was Howard Carter on November 4, 1922. He didn’t give up trying for five years because he studied about Royal Tombs and he was very sure that there are still undiscovered tomb in the place called the Valley of the Kings. Truly, Carter’s perseverance paid off for after years of digging and researching, they found the tomb they were looking for. The Mummy of King Tutankhamun was discovered inside a magnificent gold coffin. And since the tomb has remained undisturbed for a long long time, and no grave robbers have been there, they were amazed of what they have found. Over 2,000 artifacts, some are statues of strange animals all in glittering gold. They also found a gold couch in the shape of a cow.
