The Tejeros Assembly is also known as the Tejeros Convention. The meeting was set so that
the leadership of the Katipunan and of the Revolution may finally be settled. The opposing groups of the Magdalos, headed by Emilio Aguinaldo, and the Magdiwangs, which supported Andres Bonifacio, decided to elect the Revolutionary Government's Officers.
Aguinaldo won as the President even if the Magdiwangs outnumbered the Magdalos. This is due to the fact that before the assembly took place, Bonifacio kept on loosing battles while Aguinaldo led his battalion to numerous victories. The Filipinos did not want Bonifacio as their leader anymore, thus, the hold of the founder of the Katipunan of his followers was gone. Bonifacio was elected as the Secretary of the Interior but Tirona contested his election saying that the position requires a lawyer.
Bonifacio left the assembly after nearly shooting Daniel Tirona. The Founder of the Katipunan insisted that he is still the Revolution's leader which deepened the antagonism between his and Aguinaldo's followers for each other.
