The lost cities of Africa
Foriegners have always been involved in issues concerning Africa.This is due to the notion
that The African man is still incapable of definining the terms of his own existence.This has led to a warped perception about Africa.The history of Africa was written by whites who might not have had enough knowledge about what happened.Or they might just be biased.For a long time,Africans have been looked upon as apeople without history,a set of people whose forebears were just little better than animals.In the past,little was known to the world about Africa but much was said about it.However,with improvement in technology and general social perception,many facts have emerged about the past of black Africa.Owing to the efforts of many people in various fields, the past glories of Africa have been uncovered.The ruins of cities that had once flourished with an African civilization were unearthed.Ancient black empires like Timbuktu,Kush and Ghana have beeen revealed.The ruins of Meroe,an ancient black city that flourished in the 6th and5th centuries BC are a classical example.Great Zimbabwe,in modern Rhodesia is also a tangible example.Now,we can proof with evidence from Acheology that those that laid the foundation of the Egyptian civilisation were blacks.By this new trend,ancient dogmas have been defeated and we realize today that the African man is only a victim of the mistakes his forebears have made a long time ago. Today,the black man can look into history and find out about his identity.Africans can look into their glorious past with pride and rise up to modern challenges.They can learn from history about the mistakes of their forbears and avoid the same mistakes.The essence of history is to control the future from the past.
