Monteiro Lobato was a brazilian writer and journalist. He was born in Taubaté, São Paulo, in 18/4/1882, and died in the capital
of São Paulo, 04/07/1948.Seu full name was Jose Bento Monteiro Lobato.Yours preliminary studies had been carried through in Taubaté, registering itself later the Lawyer College of São Paulo, for which if he formed lawyer in 1904. Entering if later the Public prosecution service, he was accuser during seven years in you plough. Leaving the public prosecutor's office, he was to live as a farmer in city of Buquira.In that time starts to publish its first stories in the periodical The State of São Paulo.Its book Urupês was published in 1918. In this book was the caracter of its creation that if would become immortal: the Jeca Tatú. It established the Monteiro Lobato publishing company, which, however didn't obtain to prosper.The Writer passed if to dedicate to infantile literature, being able if considered the creator of this sort in the Brazil.He was in the United States of 1926 the 1931, in the function of commercial attaché.When of he returned there, published the book named America, that it showed its impressions. Enthusiastic with the industrial north american progress, the writer initiated a campaign for the steel production and brazilian oil, what the arrest was valid it. For much that made the literature of Brazil, it was homaged as the day of the book.Its workmanship understands thirty volumes, being 13 general subjects and 17 of infantile literature. Specially in this case, Monteiro Lobato obtained to create a new world, full of likeable caracteres who if become friends of the childrens for all life.He created types that if they had become know as Dona Benta, Pedrinho, Narizinho, Visconde of Sabugosa, Emília and others.Of its vast workmanship, the know books more: Urupês, The Bark of Gleyre, The Hunt of Pedrinho, Emília in the Country's Grammar, Dona Benta's Geography, The Saci in The Sky's Trip.
