One of the most outrageous and murderous actions of the Third Reich ruled by Nazis was project of
euthanasia amongst handicapped children under
Operation T4. Everything began on a break of 1938 and 1939 from a
letter by certain Mr Krauner, addressed to the Fuhrer’s office. The letter was full of grief from a father whose child was born blind, with one leg and with “inborn stupidity”. The father wanted the child to be eliminated. The clerks at the Furher’s office, managed by Phillipp Bouhler, decided that the letter is worth a personal attention from Furher himself. Knowing his pseudo-Darwin views they were trying to woo him. Having read the letter, Hitler has instructed his personal
doctor to see and overhaul the child. In case the letter proved to be true, doctor was ordered to kill the youngster. Shortly after that an outrageous process known as the Operation T4 has started in Third Reich. Designated doctors were
working on specifying the criteria concerning the children who, accordingly to the new directions, should be killed. The measures were such inborn ailments as: congenital hydrocephalus, deafness and blindness, microcephaly, stupidity, all forms of deformations – especially lack of extremities, hump etc. Prepared
documents were then forwarded to three pediatricians working on the project as the experts. Their involvement was to complete the questionnaires by putting “+” if the child was to be
killed or “-“ if it was allowed to live. None of the experts has seen the object of the study – their decisions were based solely on the documents provided. Two years after the introduction of the operation, the medical personnel overhauling children needed no paperwork to be filled in or the questionnaires to be sent out. They were making decisions themselves, showing how matters could get out of hand in Third Reich.The Majority of the Germans knew nothing about the criminal politic of children’s “euthanasia” under the Operation T4. Over 5 thousand innocent kids were murdered. The facts and documents revealing this aspect of the Operation were starting to emerge after the war. Until today, only minority knows about this action, which proves what human beings are capable of when pursuing sick ideas and superstitions.
