Life Goes On

Book Summary by: leadinglady4u

Original Author: Chastity Reed
As I approach the year of my 10 year reunion I think, time has gone by so fast. I have friends who would love
to go back to those days and relive the whole experience. I, on the other hand couldn''t wait to get out and get on with what I called my real life.
It was 10th grade and I was the new girl in school. I hadn''t made any friends and I was feeling very secluded and alone. When you come into a new school, it is very hard to be accepted. All the boys saw a new pretty girl who didn''t have a boyfriend and the girls saw the new pretty witch that had better stay away from their boyfriends! As kids we can be very cruel. I look back on some of the people who we all can remember walking down the hall. The popular football players and cheerleaders, the outcasts who dressed funny, the girls with the BAD reputations and the druggies. Where did you fit in? Do you remember? Do you want to remember? Do you wonder where these people are today and if the way they were in high school affects how they are today? I do. I debate on if I want to attend my reunion and see all of the people who I couldn''t wait to get away from. Why would I subject myself to that kind of scrutiny? Curiosity maybe? The attitude of, I''ll show them! What would I show them? Although I know that I have accomplished more than the average person, I also know that I am not where I would like to be in life. Is anyone at this point? Are you? What did you say when you graduated? Where did you want to be in 10 years? I have always had high goals and dreams, but I never finished high school and so I put myself at a different standard than others did. Some people I knew who were popular in high school and did great things during that time have become total slackers in life. On the other hand, others who didn''t achieve anything is high school are making something of themselves. Is it because we feel like we have to prove ourselves or we just want more out of life? It that what drives us? I think for me it is the attitude that, I will show you that I am somebody! Somebody great!
High School can have a great deal to do with how you see your outcome in life. I think things have great way of turning out for the better for most. Like the ugly girl who blossoms into the Super Model or the computer geek who now owns a very successful software company. We all have dreams and if I could give one piece of advice to everyone it would be that no matter where you were in high school, you are great, you can be anything and the sky is the limit!
