Intuition is about one’s inherent ability to perceive Truth directly without the help of logical reasoning. This is an ability lying dormant in everyone which can be nurtured by certain methods. It is a myth and fallacy to talk about ‘feminine’ intuition since it has no gender. Every one of us has had experience of a lucky hunch or two in our lives. This perception of direct guidance from a higher consciousness can be cultivated for helping us in our decision making.
There are three levels of consciousness in everyone, namely the subconscious, the conscious and the super conscious. The first one namely the subconscious is the storehouse of our accumulated experiences and impressions. However, this level is relatively low in awareness and is the stuff of our dreams. Though this determines our behavioral pattern to a large extent, it is not the appropriate source for intuitive guidance since it is colored by our own experiences. Since we do our thinking and reasoning with our conscious mind, it is obviously not the source of higher inspiration either. That leaves us with the super conscious part of the mind which operates from the frontal lobe of the brain.
By appealing to this center of consciousness, one can gradually develop intuitive abilities.by meditating at a point between the eyebrows. One has to be impartial and should not expect immediate results. It is undesirable to thrust our personal preferences and opinions in this process. A clean still mind would help us in getting a good response to the questions posed by us to the higher consciousness. However one should learn to distinguish between true guidance from the super conscious and the guidance given by the subconscious. This can come from experience and one indicator is the joy and humility one feels after getting true guidance. The author has however cautioned us not to wait too long for a higher guidance but to act as per our reasoning also.
