Book Summary by: satsangi

Original Author: arun
Now according to you my parents or foster parents more appropriately my SAHIB & Memsahib are old and sick and I should
continue to look after them. But please be advised that without anyone’s sermon I along with my better half and progeny were continuing to look after them to the best of our ability irrespective of the infinite bitterness and ill feeling harbored by them and facts beyond doubt, till the time they left us of their own accord for good, once again. I, too, had the option of deserting them many times in the last over three decades but for the family honour and the moral teachings imbibed over the years. It is easier said then done but I must admit none of us carry any past baggage therefore; question of putting it aside doesn’t arise. If we keep accumulating past baggage we will be crushed under the same. According to popular belief and as described in the mythological story of ‘Savitri & Satyawan’ After having taken ‘seven steps together’ one becomes friend but all of us have failed miserably in befriending them even after having taken several seven steps together, therefore, question of having any direct relationship with them does not arise.
Two may talk together under the same roof for many years, yet never really meet and the two others at first speech are old friends. Ever since the doubt about the real relationship I share with them conclusively cropped up in my mind over thirty years ago because, of continued bitter experiences thereafter, I have found solace in following preaching which, I try and practice not only on day to day basis but on moment to moment basis in order not to wander from the path of righteousness:
God is my father. Truth is my worship. Love is my law. Form is my manifestation. Conscience is my guide. Peace is my shelter. Experience is my school. Obstacle is my lesson. Difficulty is my stimulant. Joy is my hymn. Pain is my warning. Work is my blessing. Light is my realisation. Nature is my compassion. Adversary is my instructor. Neighbor is my brother. Struggle is my opportunity. Future time is my promise. Order is my attitude. Beauty and perfection is my life.
