world also to be uplifted and attain the same. So, Vethathiri founded “The World Community Service Centre” (WCSC) in 1958, with its head quarters at Chennai. He devised “Simplified Kundalini Yoga” (SKY) blending all the necessary essence of siddha’s suiting to modern hi-tech and express day-to-day
life style, which he practiced over his life time to attain and after attaining eternal bliss. The main teaching of Vethathiri is achieving world peace through
individual peace. To achieve individual peace, SKY has the following practices (1) Simplified physical exercise for body, (2) Meditation for mind, (3) Simplified Kaya kalpa Yoga for strengthening life force (4) Self-introspection and (5) Bhrama ganam (universal truth) course for attaining eternal bliss. All these can be practiced by any one at any age above 18. The WCSC, has Branches around the Globe working world peace through individual peace. From 1972 to 1993 he travelled round the globe more than 21 times delivering speech and teaching extensively in USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, Democratic Republic of Korea and Japan. He also addressed the UNO in 1974. He authored 2000 poems in the state of eternity dealing with origin and functions of cosmos and all aspects of human life. He has authored 70 books in Tamil and English. He proposed a unified force model behind the evolution of universe. Several universities in India have made Maharishi's philosophy a part of their regular course. He has unified both science and philosophy. Hundreds of thousands of people in India and abroad have learned and benefited by practicing his philosophy and SKY techniques. He lived a simple living, throughout his entire life and at the end of his journey towards heavenly journey he resided at “Arivuthirukoil” meaning “Temple of Consciousness” in Aliyar (in western ghats) of South India. On March 28 2006, Yogiraj Shri Vethathiri Maharishi, the Greatest Spiritual Guru of the 20th century, left his fragile and aging
body after a brief period of illness. The WCSC is continuing the service of Vethathiri with its HQ at Chennai.
