Sir Thomas More was born in London in 1478, and there he died tragically, with the age of 57 years old. He studied Law in Oxford and London and he came to be one of the main personalities of the Humanist movement of his time. Owner of full integrity and strong caracter, Thomas More became, with Henry the 8th, a great personality in the political scene of his country.

He succeded Cardinal Wolsey, in 1529, as lord chanceler. During the disturbances that marked the start of the Reform, he kept himself a catholic, although enegically advocating the return of church to its primitive purity.

In the matter of Henry the 8th''s divorce he thougth that, keeping fidelity to his conscience, he should opose to the king''s choice, and, by that atitude, made him resign, get arrested and executed in the year 1535.

Thomas More was made a saint in the year 1935.
