Both Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson are very famous people. Their musical type has been heard by many people all around the world. They were talented and professional singers. Nevertheless, both were slightly different each other.
Elvis was born on January 8th, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi. He is commonly known as Elvis and is sometimes referred to as “King of Rock n Roll”. He began his career in 1954 as one of the first performer of Rockabilly, an up-tempo fusion of country and rhythm and blues with a strong back beat. He was married to Priscilla on May 1st, 1967 but divorced in 1973 after 13 years together. And Michael Jackson was born on August 29th, 1950 in Gary, Indiana. He is very well known as “King of Pop”. He made his debut in 1964 as a member of “The Jackson 5” and begun his solo career in 1971. He was married to Lisa Marie Presley on May 26th, 1994, the daughter of Elvis Presley. They unfortunately divorced less than two years later but they remained in friendship. Unlike Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson has been married twice. His second wife was Deborah Jeanne Rowe. No longer than three years together they finally divorced.
Wikipedia.org stated that Elvis Presley was influenced by gospel music. Gospel music is music that is written to express either personal or a communal belief regarding Christian life, but Michael Jackson was not influenced by anybody. He had natural talent. Both had very unique characteristic in the way they danced. They made their own dance styles and were very popular in the world. Both were different in the clothes they wore. They were very famous through their special clothes. However both people were very good in singing. They obviously were excellent.
Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson were similar in the way they died because of health problems. Elvis Presley had developed many health problems during his life, some of them chronic. He died because of drug misuse on August 16th, 1977 and was buried at Forest Hill cemetery in Memphis, next to his mother. Like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson died because of health problems though it was still controversy issue. He collapsed at his rented mansion in Los Angeles on June 25th, 2009. He was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park’s Hall of liberty.
In conclusion, due to what happened to these people during their life made them admitted as pioneer in musical world. They have made good influence to some other professional singers and new comers. That’s why people all around the world really appreciated them.
