Film to Be Made With Turkey and Ireland/Famine:

Article Summary   by:SM THOMPSON
ª

Turkish Digest blogged a film is to be made creating the link between Ireland and Turkey
when the Ottoman Empire funded Ireland during the Irish Famine and the stars are well know.

The link is an Empire I guess since the Ottoman Empire gave way to the Turkish Republic and Islamic
State and apparently Queen Victoria also funded Ireland during the Irish Famine.

The historical link between the Ottoman Empire and Ireland now a partitioned Republic given six coountries remain under British Rule is a necessary link apparently.

The blog enthuses about the extent to which these two countries will be and will stay connected but it comes hard on the news of the problems the Turkish Republic faces with its close enemy or ally Greece as Cyprus is still
out there somewhere with a Turkish invador and some say the reason that Turkey canoot gain entry
into the European Union is due to its problems with Cyprus. Others argue that is one problem but the
greater conflict that Turkey faces is some issue concerning Armenia who refer to the genocide of these
Armenians and Turkey does not agree; so perhaps films are a positive way forward to ensure that links
that re made gain historical recognition and even though they are all GLOSS nevertheless it seems in
this day and age they are still worth making.

When one looks back at the past even if its the Turkish past of the Ottoman Empire or the British Empire
one imagines the divisions between rich and poor: between low life and high society and what was it all
really like for those at the bottom of the ladder in comparison to those who were at the top of the ladder.

These issues are still relevant in schools and Universities as we are in some sort of poverty dip at the
moment and thus we feel and draw comfort from the past; in other words let it roll ... hard work pays UP!
