Why not! Worth a try! I was a little anxious but nevertheless as long as my neighbours didnt
hear me talk it out alone in my flat then I will proceed with the story of myself and learning Turkish.
I had a moment or two of
video clips and considered that - easy as I could imagine any
language can be - I decided to sing along in Turkish ... I knew all the accents and the flavour of pronunciation proved that I had indeed fulfilled Sister Florence''s view that I was a born linguist a great writer and scholar and a world away from reality by
practising it out on the
phone to a Turk!
My heart was beating fast .. I must get it right .. no smile to encourage me or kindly pat on the back ... put the dictionary away and I did ... I called and got no answer, and thought it was my
mobile phone having an off day but I was wrong. My mobile phone was in perfect order. I then noticed that I had missed a call ... and can you guess from where .........Turkey ... after all my practising at the Turkish language and singing all week the songs in Turkish I learnt on the internet video clips on You Tube ... so I pressed the green key and started up and all I could hear was the sound of the wind blowing and the traffic rushing back and forth on the other side of the world ....... so I instantly reverted to type .. in tears .. and said BRIT yes you spell it .. B R I T ... good well done and
nice talking with you Turkey .... the phone went dead and I had managed to get a Merbaba or two in but I do hope my efforts are appreciated in international business calls in Turkish ... and English! Excellent skill and .. will do it again .. for remuneration ... see you in Turkey ...........its a First or I am a French Onion!
