Communication Process:
The Process of communication involves the combination of these very essential elements, components for the achievement of goals and proper activation. There are many factors which influence the communication process, all of which impact each other in a variety of ways. This model shows how the most important factors function in what would be a snapshot of a static instance of communication.
1-Sender:
It is the originator of the idea or message. It is the place or the person from where the message is communicated or sent. The source initiates the message by encoding it into symbols (words) and signs (facial expressions, tone of voice, etc). It may also be known as Sender who may be an individual or a group. 2-Encoding: Encoding involves the selection of mode of communication. The encoder expresses his message through gestures, sounds, written words and signs. Encoding requires clarity of purpose and effective medium of expression. For example, a telegram differently worded from a letter. . 3-Message: The message is the actual physical product from which the source encodes. When we speak, the speech is the message. When we write, the writing is the message. When we gesture, the movement of our arms and the expression of our face are the message. 4-Channel: The Channel is the medium through which the message travels. It is selected by the source how to use a formal channel. Formal channels are used to transmit messages that relate to personal activities of the people. Informal channels are used to transmit messages that relate to the personal or social activities of the people. .
5-Receiver: Receiver is the object to whom the message is directed. The receiver has the responsibility to receive the message with the same meaning and spirit as intended by the sender. The receiver receives the message in the form of written symbols or gestures and then translates it into a form that can be understood. Any neglect on the part of receiver may make the communication ineffective.
6-Decoding:
The reverse of encoding is decoding. The receiver decodes the message by changing the symbols, signs into meaning. The more the message is written clearly by encoder, the more it get positive response from the decoder. If the receiver does not decode the message correctly and misunderstands it, the communication will become ineffective. A decoder may be a listener or reader.
7-Feedback:
The feedback is actually the reaction or response of the receiver. It may be positive or negative. Feedback can be written, oral or silence. It is an action or reaction on the part of receiver. .
