I received the IATEFL Online Brighton British Council April 2011, videos and I must say it was exciting to zoom in on several and I found a Spelling Video which was of interest and well presented which asked for audience participation in putting letters together to form words to engage with correct English spelling for students whose first language is NOT English and it seems like a clever idea. The other video I zoomed in, on was an Academic Gentleman who has been congratulated as he escaped retirement and even though there are references to his bus pass, a euphemism for retirement, the Speaker has managed to leave his dressing gown and slippers behind and enthral his audience with his erudite comments on War Poets, Crows, Ted Hughes, Iain McEvan, and what a very witty and engaging lecture he gave at the Brighton Online IATEFL Conference organized by The British Council. - the presenter was named as Peter Grundig. The Speaker referred to Wayne Rooney as a Culutral Ambassador for Britain and he is also a famous footballer, and the slide show and Big Presentations were extremely well received by the audience and/or participants at this recent, Online Brighton IATEFL Conference organized by The British Council. Its amusing to note that the jokes about "The Wife" still permeate the speech making so perhaps its a fact that these jokes will never die, like old teachers they will always stay in focus and never .. ever loose THE CLASS!
