The promotion of a just economic order entails a just political order, in a situation where there are problem there can never be any meaningful economic activities. However, with the inequality in the distributions of the natural resources among nations of the world, it has become very imperative for nations to establish closer relations in every area of human endeavors.
To be able to address this subtitle, one must know what is a just economy. a just economic order is when economic activities conforms to the law of a given state. Having been able to define what a just economy is, let us try to establish how the promotion of a just economic order could be achieved. It is an undeniable fact that a game that has no rules cannot be peaceful, hence different government are putting legislature in place that regulates a smooth economic order in their country, in Nigeria for instance, she is interested in doing business with an African countries first before any other countries of the world.
The task of making sure that there is a global economic order in our contemporary world is not an easy one, different countries have to join different economic bodies. Nigeria for instance is a member of different trade organizations such as Economic Community of West Africa State ECOWAS, Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC, World Trade Organization WTO, etc, she also have understanding with other regional and continental economic bodies, bilateral agreement with other countries on ways of improving their economic relation. In 2004, the Nigerian government closed the boarder on the Nigerian side between the Nigeria/Benin because of the unwholesome activities that is going on there, this development was not good for an harmonious economic order as such the abnormalities was corrected.
The economic situation in the world today is doing fairly well because of the regulatory activities of the various trade organization existing in the world coupled with the improved transport and telecommunication facilities, one can not say that the economic environment has attain perfection, this is because of some people that do not follow the rules of the game, defrauding of countries and individuals and all other economic crimes. The Nigerian government has taken step to correct this situation through the establishment of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC}, the Independent Corrupt Practice Commission, the establishment of a trade desk in her foreign mission abroad, the creation of ministry of Trade and Commerce, the publication of business directory, the liberalization of trade in Nigeria through the privatization and commercialization of government interest in the economic sector, the re-capitalization of financial institution, assistance given to the organized private sector, the improved security situation in the country and the attempt to reduce the lending rate in Nigeria and above all the improved human right record of the country are all indication of promoting a just economic order.
