Giovanni Pico della Mirandola "Speech about the human dignity" .
The author is referring to a biblical myth of creation and the man ". The Renaissance thinker is introducing God as the architect, which being driven by an own wisdom promoted his work. Giovanni I am portraying the division made by the Creator into lower and higher beings and creating the man and granting him "special" meanings.
The author is comparing world to the divine temple, in which higher beings are situated more close God and lower farther. The Almighty is an artist in this work, however man most excellent with his creature admiring work of the creature (in a way is also an equal for the Creator).
Expression "work about the indefinable shape" referring to the man, for me it means that God didn''t grant some closely specified face, the function or territory people but, gave them [for us] free will so that use it managed their nature and proceedings.
With the most important feature (and at the same time with gift) according to the Renaissance philosopher distinguishing the man from other creatures there are his unspecified nature, i.e. a possibility of making own choices and a responsibility, like the not tied freedom, free will.
According to the author the human dignity consists in the option between the good and the evil, between the degeneration and the descent to the level of animals and with reviving and raising divine beings to the row.
