Many Christians don’t understand the faith they profess. They are Judaism [Old Testament] proselyte trying to be Christians. They don’t understand the [gospel] sayings of Jesus in spirit maybe this is to fulfill what he said in Mark 4:11 "They will be ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven." For the kingdom of Jesus is for the chosen ones through grace. This tendency of relying on the Judaism for guidance makes believers Pharisees and teachers of the law. Christians misunderstand Matthew 5:17 "Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish it but to fulfill it." Some pastors say that Jesus kept the Law and the Prophets and never broke them. They are blind to the fact that Jesus was talking about the fulfillment of these' prophesy of the Christ to come in the world. The Law is spirit, and Paul said this in Roman 7:14. Moses [Law] wrote about the Christ to come into the world and Phillip one of Jesus’ disciples said it in John 1:44. But do we see some where in the bible where Moses wrote about the Christ. No ways. Only in one place where Moses said in Deuteronomy 18:15 "The Lord your God will raise up a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him." This means the Bible [Old Testament] that was used in the times of Jesus has disappeared. The early Christians knew about a place, suppose to be in the Bible where Moses wrote that. If we don’t rely on the New Testament, then Jesus died on the Cross in vain. We have to forget about his New [Testament] Covenant he made through his blood. We have to seek God of the Jews according to the Law of Moses and remain Gentiles for life but if he died on the Cross for the sin of the world. Then the God of the Jews, the only God became God of the Gentiles, too. Ephesians 2:13 "but now in Christ Jesus you [Gentiles] who were far away have been brought near through the blood of Jesus. For himself is our peace, who has made the two one [Jews and Gentiles] and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 abolishing in his flesh the law and it’s commandments and regulations." Jesus commanded his disciples to be his witness in acts 1:8. The gospel starts with John’s baptism and the Book of Mark said about this in 1:1 "the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ the Son Of God." According to Luke in Acts 1:1-2, The gospel is all that Jesus began to do and teach until he was taken up to heaven , after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he has chosen. We can trace the remnant of the gospel which was preached by the early Christians in the book of Acts and in Paul’s letters, since he was its chief speaker.
Whoever is preaching a gospel which is not based on the New Testaments doesn’t know who Jesus is. Like the Jews, Pharisees and teachers of the law, this preacher has the zeal of God based on the fear of the Law of Moses not on the steadfast love of Jesus. Everybody believes in God from Buddhism, Shintoism, Hinduism, Animism, Spiritualism, Satanism, Judaism, Islamic etc but to come to him is impossible according to the real Christian concept. Unless we believe in Jesus, for he is the password to reach God. God doesn’t pour his Holy Spirit when we believe in him but when we believe in his Son Jesus because he is his golden law. Without Jesus, no Holy Spirit is given to men. Many believers misunderstood Jesus when he said I and the Father are one. Jesus was talking about oneness in Spirit not as Beings. God is greater than the Son. He is a different Being to the Son that is why the mystery of the kingdom of God is called Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Which means different beings but one is spirit. The concept of oneness also applies to all believers in Jesus. John 18:20… I pray also for those who believe in me through their [the apostles] message, 21 that all of them may be one. This means that all Christians are one but different being. For example Paul was different to Peter but they are one in Spirit. Many Christians put Moses’ words in Jesus’ mouth. Jesus never said he made the Covenant with Moses in the Mount Sinai but it is the Father. Hebrews 1:1 "In the past God talked to our fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son." If Jesus kept the commandments of the Old Testament then he couldn’t have contrasted it on the Sermon in Matthew 5:21-43. He could have stoned the adulterous woman in john 8:1-11. The Law died and the grace of Jesus reigns, now. Roman 7:6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way [Old testament] of the written code.
