The man whom should believe concerning man''s end is the Lord God who created all things including ma. God declares:
I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make know the end from the begining, from ancient times, what is still to come...(Isa.46:9-10)NIV
Thi God is the Father (Isa.45:18-22; 68:8)
But man dies and is laid low; he breath his last and is no more...so man lies down and does not rise; till the heaven are no more, men will not awake ...(Job 14:10,12, NIV)
The lie in their graves. it is not true that when a man dies, he immediately goes to either hell or heaven or to the purgatory, as many have been led to believe.Others argue, however, that what dies and is buried is the physical body and that man soul, which they believe is the same as the spirit, does not die.
In relation to this, one must first understand what constitute man. Apostle Paul teaches that the "Whole self" of man is "spirit, soul and body" (I Thess. 5:23, Easy-to- read version). Thus, the soul and the spirit are not one and the same. When a man dies, his physical body - the flesh - or "the dust return to the griound it came from" and "his spirit returns to God who gave it" (Eccles. 12:7 NIV)
Also the bible explicitly says that "the soul who sins shallm die" (Ezek. 18:4 NKJV) Hence the biblical truth is, soul is not immortal. Furthermore, Psalm 146:4
It follows then that any docrine, belief or religious practice that stems from the false belief that the soul does not die - like purgatory, prayers for the dead, transmigration of the soul or reincarnation - is simply not biblical
