Our great God does Arithmetic.Throughout the Bible in the scriptures you can see God as he do arithmetic.God has always dealt with numbers from the beginning of creation.Some of the numbers he have use is the number seven which means completion.God created the heaven and earth in seven days and on the seven day he rested.(Genesis2:1-3)The prophecy of Daniel''s Seventy Weeks of Years is another time the number seven was use.(Daniel9thChapter).Then in Acts6:2-3 the Apostles chooses seven Deacon to serve the Church.The number twelve was use frequently in the Bible, the twelve sons of Jacob which became the twelve tribes of Israel.(Genesis29thChapter)Jesus pick twelve disciples that followered him and later they became the twelve Apostles.(St.Matthew10:1-3)God as being a God that deals with numbers no doubt can do arithmatic.Now let s see how the Lord adds,St. Matthew6:33 says,But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.Acts2:47,The Lord added to the Church daily such as should be saved.God delights in adding to his followers and believers.He also does multiplication in the Bible.Deuteronomy7:12-13,Wherefore it shall come to pass,if ye hearken to these judgements and keep and do them,that the Lord thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and mercy which he sware unto thy fathers.Verse 13, And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee.Deuteronomy30:5,And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shall possess it, and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.2Corithians9:10,Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruit of your righteousness.Those seeds of obedience,giving,and righteousness will cause God to do some multiplication in our life.
Genesis 1:4,Now lets see him divide,And God said, let there be light and there was light.verse4, And God saw the light that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.Exodus14:21,And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea , and the Lord cause the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night,and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.1Corinthians12:11,But all these things worket that one and selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.Let us make sure that we give, share, and those talents that the Lord have put in our trust that we don''t be like the unprofitable servant in St.Matthews25:14-30 If we divide then God won''t have to do division in our lives.The last and final is subtraction or as sometimes we would say "take away".Yes its two take aways. One is good and the other is not so good.Lets deal with the first.God subtracted or took away our sins,St.John1:29says, The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him and he saith, Behold the Lamb of which taketh away the sins of the world.1John1:9,If we con fess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.The other thats not so good is when David made a mistake and had to plead to God not to subtract his presence and Holy Spirit from him.Psalms51.God is always ready to do his arithmetic in our lives because its the Father''s good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
