http://www.wayneallenprocess.com/39994.html A website for people interested in and affected by the cult known as The Process, run by Wayne Allen Geis in Germany and America. Unlike much religion based cults, Geis’s movement masquerades as an acting school.  Geis claims to be a former opera singer, and to have Robert Duvall, and John Voigt among his friends. His claims about his career are heavily disputed. What is known is that Geis was heavily involved in the spiritualist-channelling cult of L. Z. Knight, who believes that Ramtha, a 35,000-year-old spirit guide, periodically possesses her. Knight was also an influence on the reincarnation beliefs of the actress Shirley Maclaine.   Geis set up his own acting and singing academy, where students are not taught how to act, but are told to reinvent their personalities, which can only be achieved by breaking down the previous personality. This is done in long intense group therapy sessions at which students are singled out to be systematically insulted and bullied until they break down allowing Geis to help shape their new personalities and images.
This is textbook brainwashing. One member, known only as Wolfgang, was hounded to suicide by such methods.  On top of an increasing number ex-member claims about harsh teaching methods, which have yet top produce a well known actor or singer, Geis has frequently been accused of sexually abusing and molesting his followers and their children, as well as his own. He was even confronted on this by L. Z Knight, though Ramtha possessed her at the time. Geis confessed to many such allegations before her audience of some 600 of her own followers and she banished him from her organization.  Geis has been tried for child molestation, but the case collapsed on technicalities (not having been filed quickly enough after the incidents occurred). The website reviewed here sets up an advice forum for people affected by the cult, and who have friends and family still involved.  Arthur Chappell
