Friday night and the BBC Radio 3 Pod cast nay Broadcast nay Sufism ... the Mystical Wing of Islam .. nay . when will Poet and Presenter Ian McMillan say "Yes! I waited patiently and yes turned into a delivery of poetry in Russian and it had a lovely rhythm to it a beat that went straight to the heart and I felt in tune with The Verb and its machinations and poets on Friday evening once more.
I wondered through why The Verb and its presenter Ian McMillan was so keen on Sufism so I checked it out and took it further and found the definiton of vikipedia as follows:
Sufism is an Islamic Movement that seeks to find divine love through personal experience and it has a hands on connection with ... languages such as Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Urdu and it created Love Poetry a sort of Golden Age for Love Poetry in its high points focusing on the Sufism movement of Islamic. Sufism may have sstarted up about AD 632! around the time of the death of Muhammed!
Also the Verb had some speakers who made commens that they could chat with each other in Russian and Turkish but then Ian McMillan is English and the programme is in the English Language on BBC Radio 3 ... the BBC took the opportunity of inviting the listeners to drop them a line should any of us wish to broadcast on the Verb Programme with Ian McMillan so I emailed them .. keep me posted .. great poets, poems, songs, and foreign languages . . nice work!
