Reuters .. blogged. His Holiness Pope Benedict XVl is planning and has confirmed that he will visit Britain and the date is probably in and around September 2010. However, the Pope stresses his disapproval as Head of the Roman Catholic Church of Gays, Homosexuals, and transsexuals that is people who change their sex. Apparently the Bill concerning a change in the law is at the House of Lords stage and it would mean if put into practice that Gays, Homesexuals, Transsexuals would be employed in the Roman Catholic Church to work irrespective of the Catholic Church and its teaching on morals, sexuality and issues connected with this.
The Pope admires Our Country for its basis ond strengths on Equality in society but feels that the notion of religious freedom is limited as some religious groups cannot put faith into practice in the UK. Presumably because its at odds with the bulk of opinion nationally in the UK!
Another point is that PM Gordon Brown commented that The Pope would preside over the beatification of Cardinal Newman an anglican who converted to Catholicism and Newman lived from 1801 .. 1890 ..... thanks Reuters!
