As we know Prophet Muhammad is the last messenger of Allah. He is the success person that bring new era in the development of world civilization and also the success nation leader that bring the glorious Islamic civilization during the next 1000 years.
And beside the fact above there is also other side of Prophet Muhammad that we don't know much about, that Prophet Muhammad is a successful businessman .
Since teenager Prophet Muhammad had taought how to do bussiness by his uncle, Abu Thalib. When the Prophet Muhammad was 12 years old, his uncle Abu Talib had invited Muhammad to do business (trade) by leaving the city of Mecca headed to the Land of Syam ( Now is Syiria ).
His honesty attitude has been recognized by the people of Mecca so that he dubbed as “Al Siddiq” (Trustable). In addition, Muhammad is also known to be very firmly held trust and never ever betray that trust. Not surprisingly, he also earned the nickname “Al-Amin” (Trusted). Acording to historical records, it has been recorded that Muhammad doing business trip overseas as much as 6 times including to Sham (Syria), Bahrain, Jordan and Yemen. And in every business trip, Muhammad always get a great success and never get the loss.
Prophet Muhammad is the businessmen who are honest and fair in making a business deal. He never makes its customers complained. He always keep his promise and deliver the ordered goods on time. Muhammad had always shown a great sense of responsibility and high integrity in business. In other words, he is implementing the principles of modern business management that are customer satisfaction, service excellence, ability, efficiency, transparency (honesty), fair competition and competitive.
In business, Prophet Muhammad always implement the principle of fairness (transparency). When on business, he was always honest in explaining the advantages and disadvantages of products it sells. And the transparancy principle that Prophet Muhammad done, became an effective marketing to attract customers. He also loves his customers like he love himself, so that why he always serve them with all his heart (do service Exellence) and always make them satisfied with the service ( do the principle of customer satisfaction).
In conducting his business, Prophet Muhammad never took very high profit margin as is commonly done by other businessmen of his time. He only takes just enough profit margin in selling its product.
And by do this, all the goods that he sell is always sold out. Consumer prefer to buy the goods that sell by Prophet Muhammad than other trader, because the consumer can get better price and quality.
In this case, he committed to the principles of fair competition and encourage the competitive business more efficient and effective.
So we can say that Prophet Muhammad is the pioneer of business on the principle of honesty, fair and healthy business dealing. And He also does not hesitate to disseminate the principles of business in the form of education and issued a strong statement to other businesses that unhonest to consumer.
