Accidents--Can We Avoid It?

Article Summary   by:SophieYan

I often hear the opinion on accidents or disaster. It is said that accident or disaster comes from God. I agree with that opinion because God tests His people with joy and sorrow. Accident or disaster is one of the tests from God. People who realize that any accidents come from God, they are always steadfast and do not despair. But the danger is that if they become negligent and careless in what they do because they think that accidents are determined by God. This is a very fatal mistake.

There's a man who advised his friend, "Do not speed up your car in order not to have an accident." This advice is answered with, "Accidents are on the hand of God. If He does not want it to happen, it won’t happen.
Although, accidents come from God, we still have to be careful in every step we make. By being careful, at least we can minimize accidents or avoid it from happening at all.In my opinion, accidents occur due to negligence and fate.

Examples of accidents due to negligence are, among other things, careless driving, emotional decisions to do something and many other accidents that can actually be avoided as you realize that the actions are dangerous.
Accidents that occur due to fate are when you have been very careful in your steps but accidents are unavoidable. For example, I am the one who always rides my bike very carefully. I never go at the speed of more than 40 km per hour. While I was riding home, suddenly a very fast rider came from behind me and fell off his bike just in front of me. I suddenly pressed the brake of my bike but lost my balance and fell over, bruising my elbow and other parts of my hands. This accident that happened to me was due to fate as I was not careless and I rode very slowly.

Those who died because of they were on board the plane that crashed were examples of accidents due to fate. If they had known the plane would crash, none of them would have flown with it. The plane that crashed might have been due to human errors but the pilot was certainly not aware of it.

Some people may have lost faith in God they believed as their family members had to die because of the accident. The loss of faith was reasonable as accidents still happened despite them praying day in and day out. They thought God was not with them. They did not realize that joy and sorrow are given by God to test His creations.
