Fascinated as I often am by the intriguing pronunciations of the BBC and their Foreign Languages Department it was
a shock this morning when BBC Radio 2 Announced in their News Bulletin that the Irish Cardinal Sean Brady had been banned somewhere in the Middle East or Israel possibly Jerusalem for wearing his Holy Cross ... as we used to write as authors ... sporting his outfit!
The Jewish State of Israel dislikes the wearing of the Cross by the Irish Cardinal so I suppose he will have to take it off! It is seen as inflamatory and in direct conflict to the wishes of the Jewish State.
I know quite a lot about that ......... as in our house we had an Italian cross and that had to be removed about 1981 .... secular reasons and I became a State Teacher - QTS and taught World Religion to include religions as well as the Catholic Religion! So its in one door and out another for the Irish Cardinal Sean Brady .. keep on working with World Religion .. I do - and its nice work!
