Noah was old when God called him to make an ark. All animals on earth would be converged in pairs into the ark. Full the
ark with many foods, said God. On that time, Noah had retired. An old guy, not working, nobody told him to work but to rest more, instead he made an ark? What would his sons and wife say? And what would they say if he insist to keep building the ark?
If he lived in this era, people would yell 'crazy' or 'too old had made you wacky.' On that time Noah's age had reached a hundred year old.
He was going to make a very very veryyyyyy big ark. Even if he made a little ark in his retired time, people would call him 'crazy' for wasting his time for the useless hobby. While this.. the biggest to lead all animals two by two aboard.
The passers-by just gazed at him and thought he was possessed by a rare devil. Or might be thinking, 'Where is his family? Is it okay to let him on the loose like that? What if he hit someone?' You know what a
carpenter used : hammer, ruler ( or just measure with a rope in his time), wood grater (if had been invented). But he was not a carpenter, what would he do with those tools? How about the skill to make it happen? And where was the power coming from on an old man like Noah? From God? Yes.
What is exactly a carpenter do? Making a desk, wardrobe, dining table, kitchen cabinet, the bed, and all made by timber as the base material. In his age, he had an experience , perhaps in making some simple kitchenware. But how to build an ark? It needs audacity for he was a new guy in this job, he must dare to take a risk and do all he can to make the ark floating on the water. Otherwise, he and all the animals God had ordered would be drawned by the wrong structure of the ark building.
How many times he had made mistake? How many times God repeated His orders to Noah because Noah didn't have comprehension about ark? Maybe tens of time or away more. How to do something he didn't master without
practice? No, maybe he was practising. It's impossible without practice, even an expert need practice. While working on it, he kept practising. Can he do it alone? No. Needs God beside him. Without God, what can he do? How could he make that ark all by himself? He interacted with God, only God knows how.
On the right day, God told Noah, all his family (his sons, daughter-in-laws, wife) to get into the ark, with all animals. The water raised up from down the earth. The flood came up very hastily. Humans, all, were drawning, some who were running to the hill knocked Noah's ark's door and cried out, "Let us in, please let us in! Open the door!" Noah just did what God said, so he didn't open the door.
The water rose drawned all man kind, buildings, animals, plants, houses, outside the ark, but not Noah's passengers. The ark wavered by the wave for forty days. He freed a dove outdoors but it had never come back. So he awaited for a while. And then another dove was freed and came back with a branch signified there was a dry land and that bird had just perched on a tree. So it was the time to inhale back the fresh air, to get out of the ark and live on the ground again.
All living creatures were died, but whoever followed Noah. After that God had a regret. God was sorried for exterminated all humans. Next time God would not do that again, and to erect His promise with Noah, God adorns the sky after the rain with rainbow. It will be the remembrance tool to God to not destroy the humanity again.
