St. Augustine examines his motives and character with honesty while he questions freedom of will. His thirst for the will of God and a pure spirit are this man's astounding quest.
The Confessions represents the most moving diary ever recorded of a soul's voyage to grace. Throughout his work, the narrative, addressed to God, is intermingled with prayers, meditations, and directives, which many are now instituted in liturgies in different sects of the Christian Church. These writngs are mediations and dialogue addressed directly to God. He profoundly discussed the persistance of temptations and that life is a warfare. The sins he depicts on himself are explicit while he seeks God's grace. The reader will observe true works of mercy and God's vision for oneself.
