this paper explores the link between HIV/AIDS induced child labour and education in the sub-sahara Africa.within the particular contenxt of the beach communities along Lake Victoria KENYA,it is estimated that 29%of the 7.9 million children aged 6-14 are out of school ,15% of them being involved in child labour ,some in its worst forms. it explores the efforts made to combat the worst forms of child labour experienced by AIDS orphans through prevention and direct action efforts with schools and communities in the fishing sector.The paper utilizes primary data collected in 2005 using an interviewer-based questionaire administered to 93 pupils aged 7-18 and ten teachers., 25 key informant interviews with head teachers and community members . the result show thatchildren orphaned by AIDS face neglet and abuse, thus forced into fishing. child labour should be adressed from developmentpoint of view and the Government should implement legislation.
