If you are a film geek like me, then you should take a trip through the Internet Movie Database at www.imdb.com. The site
contains pretty much anything and everything to do with movies. You can do a search on any movie star and read their biographies, lists of projects, trivia, and join message boards. Look up your favorite movie and you can find out all sorts of trivia to blow people away the next time you play Trivial Pursuit. The site is not just limited to movie stars. You can find anything you want to know about
directors and producers. There are lists of the top grossing films at the box office and current
entertainment news for anyone that cares. You can also search for movie showtimes and tickets in your area. I enjoy the IMDb Movie of the Day feature because it resurrects movies long forgotten that make great rentals. The IMDb hit list contains links to some of the most interesting entertainment articles of the day. It is a great site to visit, and if you love movies you will find yourself spending a lot more time here than you probably should. If you are an actor or actress, IMDb has a great publicity service. You can upload your photographs so that the roving eyes of casting directors and agents can lock on to your image. A little self-promotion never hurts. Why not use the Internet? It has certainly revolutionized just about everything we do. I digress a little. The point is that there is something for everyone here. It doesn't matter if you are a die-hard film buff or just trying to settle a bet over who starred in some obscure movie from the 70s or early 80s. IMDb is a fantastic destination on the information superhighway.
