Technovelgy

Website Review by: tempusfugit99

For decades, writers of science fiction have speculated about the shape
our future would take. Predictions have varied
from the wildly
optimistic to the unthinkably grim, but nearly all of them agree on at
least one thing--whatever form our future takes, it will be driven by
our ever-more-advanced technology. And, more and more, the fantastic
technologies and inventions described by those same writers and
predictors are inspiring engineers and scientists to finally bring them
to life...in some cases, even surpassing the creators' original
visions.
http://www.technovelgy.com is a fun, fascinating and educational
website devoted to bringing current news of the cutting edge of science
and engineering, with pithy comparisons to similar gadgets, ideas and
fantastic concepts created by the best and brightest science fiction
writers of all time, along with discussion of the impact that they may
well have on all of our lives, complete with readers' comments and
annotations from the site's webmaster. A brief glance at the front page
is enough to let us know that, sometimes, reality is far more fantastic
than even the most outlandish science fiction stories. Between
self-assembling robots, advanced space flight, and medical technologies
straight out of a hardcore science fiction novel, the world of the near
future may wind up being a weirder, more colorful, and far more
interesting place to live than we would ever have imagined.
Also included is a helpful glossary of science fiction inventions,
so that readers and visitors not familiar with a particular concept or
science fiction writer can quickly get a handle on a particular
article, and a complete timeline of authors, stories, novels and
concepts from the year 1600 onward to the present.
Technovelgy.com is proof positive that the world of the future, for
better or worse, will at least not be a boring place to live.
