Tips for Successful Interview:
- Arrive on time. Wear a watch and leave home early.
- Dress up professionally and smartly. Do not carry too many things in your hand.
- Enter into a state of relaxed concentration. Be yourself. Display energy and a positive attitude. Show your sincere interest in the institute.
- Greet the interviewer with a firm handshake.
- Act spontaneously, but be well prepared to talk about yourself in a clear, concise manner.
- Be aware of your non-verbal communication, especially our physical posture. Don’t appear too rigid or over relaxed. - Maintain eye contact. Experts estimate that words express only 30%-35% of what people actually communicate; facial expressions and body movements and actions convey the rest.
- Be alert and attentive. Answer the question asked. Be precise, don’t give long rambling answers. Include examples of achievements from your work life that closely match the elements of the job before you.
- Emphasize your strong points. Be self –confident.
- Focus on your ability to learn quickly, your communication skills, your analytical abilities and other strong points.
- Be prepared to discuss any aspect of your resume in depth.
- Stay positive. Never criticize a former teacher, friend, colleague or employer. State your previous experience in the positive terms.
- Watch your grammar. Interviewers are interested in articulate candidates. Use pauses rather than “uhs”.
- Be prepared for personal or inappropriate questions. Decide beforehand how you will answer in a non-defensive manner.
- At the close of the interview be courteous, thank the interviewer, and shake hands and leave.
