STEREOTYPES...ASIANS ARE...BLACKS ARE...WHITES ARE...
Recently on the CBS program brothers, Amber a contestant went on a tirade about Jewish people. She quotes her
mother as saying Jewish people are
selfish and money hunger...does Amber know every Jew in America? How about Israel? Has Amber ever been around a Jew? When I was a teenager, my family was poor. My father was a drunk and my mother struggled at low paying jobs to put food on the table. I was an energetic typical "bubble gum" music loving teenager. A big fan of my idols during that time -- The Osmonds and The Jackson FIve. Everytime there new album would come out I would somehow think of creative ideas to earn the money so I could buy my their latest album. Now here is where it gets good Amber. Their were Jewish brothers by the name of Danny and David (identical twins) who ran the only record store near my low income neighborhood. Danny and David knew I loved these two icons. Once I came in to buy the latest album. I was short a dollar. Danny said that''s okay, ''take the album". There began until the end of my teenage years credit or take it from these brothers. They not only gave me a bargain or break, they also sold stereo''s and record players. They often (many, many times) allowed my mother to get the stuff and pay later. This was when it was hard for woment to get credit. And my mother was sort of a credit risk. If it weren''t for Danny and David my teenage years would of been bleak. It always brings tears to my eyes when I think of these two generous, kind, helpful brothers. But it doesn''t stop there. For some reason my mother was drawn to Jewish doctors, Lawyers, Grocery store owners, who often helped my humble, but poor mother with credit or pay when you can. When I had to have my tonsils out at the age of sixteen, our Jewish Doctor told my mother to pay whatever she could on time. He even arranged my hospital stay, which my mother was having a difficult time obtaining, she had no health insurance. So Amber you have no idea what you''re talking about. Sure there are some selfish, hungry money hungry Jews, but there are also some selfish, and money hungry Irish, Italians, African-Americans, Chinese,,,the list goes on...
Amber it''s in every race in every place. It never cease to make me angry when I hear comments like, African-American''s are thieves, White people are shady, Mexicans are lazy, Indians are suspicious, the list goes on and on just remember you''d have to know everyone in that group to categorize them. Are all African -Americans thieves, no, but some within the race are, Are all Mexicans lazy, no, but some within the race are, Are all White People shady, no, but some within the race are. If a stereotype fitted a certain group the bible would say,
YOU BLACK PEOPLE STOP STEALING, YOU JEWS STOP BEING SELFISH...but it doesn''t, it just says "YOU", meaning in EVERY RACE AND EVERY PLACE you find individuals with issue. And that''s my take on that! So AMBER
