GMAIL

Website Review by: EmVee

GMAIL (gmail.google.com)By far the best free email service on the net. I have used Yahoo extensively and rediff as well.
I have come to the conclusion that Gmail is the best with its great features.Conversation ViewThe best feature is the ''conversation view'', which allows you to see  your mail and its replies from different people  on the same page , much like a discussion board.SpamThere is surly very little spam as compared to Yahoo or Rediff, spam filters keep all the spam ensconced in a separate folder.ChatChat feature is provided within the email and it is easily possible to chat while you check mail. FiltersYou can create a large number of filters to add to your convenience.LabelsAnother innovative feature only available in Gmail is labels, one need not ''sort'' mails in different folders, one can attach ''labels'' to each mail, rather conversation. The best part is that one can attach ''multiple'' labels on every conversation which is more logical that sorting mail in different folders. After all a mail from my brother about our business can be labelled both as ''family'' and ''business'' but it cannot be sorted in 2 folders at the same time. One can delete labels without deleting the mails.Free POPAlthough free POP access is available i.e. one can use outlook express to download all received mail, however the interface of the web based mail is so good that I do not use this feature at all, although I have configured my outlook for the same. There is only one scenario where the outlook is more useful than the web based mail, that is when one has to send images along with the text and not as attachments, this is possible only when it is sent through outlook. Gmail team should fix this in my opinion.Gmail is a great way to send and receive emils and enhancements are made everyday, like the latest in which the labels now appear with colour code! And an improved address book.I recommend one and all to switch to Gmail.Good Luck.
