site is similar to Elance in that you can bid on
projects, but you don’t have to pay a membership fee. In fact, the amount of commission Rentacoder receives for their service is not very significant either.
This site is really great if you are
looking for web site design projects. Though it also has a variety of other projects such as content writing and transcription, most projects involve some sort of technical aspect. However, if you are looking to design a logo or a web site, there are a ton of projects for you to bid on.
Since there is no membership fee for Rentacoder.com, you can view any bid requests posted to the site. In addition, often times there will be material that can be downloaded to allow you to get a better picture of what the requester wants done. On Elance you will notice that these extras are only allowed to be viewed by paying members.
Rentacoder.com is not a site for freelance writers who do not write web content, or do not believe in selling large quantities of articles for pretty cheap. In fact, as I stated before this site really is best for those looking for a technical or design project.

Yet, there site is not riddled with advertising. In fact, I find that the site is very easy to navigate. I love how the information is not hidden behind a ton of links. Most of the information you need is displayed on every page on the left hand side.
