Digg is an online community for sharing web content. It includes blogs, syndication and social book marking.
Digg uses a democratic method of editing and a user based ranking system, which differ from the usual hierarchical editorial systems. Thus, allowing users to determine the true value of the content.
All content is
submitted by fellow users and put in the "Digg/News/Upcoming" pages. Other users "Digg" what they like, and once a content receives enough "Diggs" it''s moved to the front page.
Contents reported as problematic will remain in the "Digg all" and later be removed.
All contents are open to conversation and readers comments. Once a user "Diggs" a story it can automatically be posted on their blog.
Although registration is compulsory for submitting and commenting, access and all content are free.
Stories can be submitted into six categories: Science, Technology, Entertainment , Sports, Gaming and World & Business.
